A Danbury man who got into a car accident tried to flee the scene, but was stopped by an EMT responding to the crash. Police spokesman Captain Thomas Wendel saus 25-year old Erlon Goncalves hit a light pole near his Stevens Street home early Monday morning.
He was seen by an ambulance driver getting out of the car and running. Goncalves had a bloody nose, but police say he refused medical treatment.
He's been charged with driving under the influence, evading responsibility, driving with a suspended license, failure to carry insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle.
Goncalves being held on $2,500 bond.
