A level 3 HAZMAT situation was investigated in Danbury. Fire officials say a drum containing low-volume materials became overheated at Bedoukian Research around 8:30 Wednesday morning.
The staff at the Finance Drive facility was evacuated as a precaution.
The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the City's Health Department responded to the scene as well. Crews were still on the scene into te late evening hours.
A HAZMAT crew also responded to an incident in Brookfield Wednesday morning. A ruptured gas line caused a gas leak on Federal Road. A construction crew was digging in the area for a water line.
