Police say 19-year old Damian Winters was pulled over by police Tuesday night for allegedly running a red light at the intersection o Federal Road and White Street. A loaded 9-millimeter semi-automatic handgun was found during a search of the vehicle, but the teen didn't have a gun permit.
Police say there was also a loaded magazine in the car.
Winters has been charged with reckless driving among other counts. Winters was released on $10,000 bail and will be arraigned on the 27th.
That day he will also be in Danbury Superior Court for a May arrest in which he was charged with creating a public disturbance.
He was also arrested in March for an assault that took place last September. Winters also faces breach of peace and attempt to commit assault charges in that case. He will be in court on August 13th to answer those charges.
