Wilton police arrested two Bridgeport women last Tuesday on felony identity theft charges and trafficking personal information. Police say a third co-defendant, Marque Harris, would offer to pay other people's bills off faster by matching whatever payment they were about to make. But he would then take money from the victim's accounts.
Police say 25-year old Metael Mota paid off her bills using other people's account information and also recruited so-called clients for Harris, whom she was dating. Police say one of the victims accounts was siphoned when they gave Mota, a real estate agent, a check for her commission.
35-year old Worneversteen McCoy has also been charged for the conspiracy and released on $30,000 bond for a July 31st court appearance.
Mota was released on $60,000 bond and will be back in court on August 28th.
Harris, who was arrested in May, is free on $25,000 bond for a September court date.
