Republican 5th Congressional District candidates are facing off tonight in a debate at Brookfield High School.
The four candidates are vying for their party's nomination in the August 14th primary. Tonight's debate is sponsored by the Brookfield Republican Town Committee.
State Senator Andrew Roraback, businesswoman Lisa Wilson-Foley, businessman Mark Greenberg and U.S. Navy veteran Justin Bernier are expected to take part in the debate.
Opening statements are set to begin at 6:30 pm. Voters are invited to attend.
The 5th District seat is vacant due to a U.S. Senate run by Congressman Chris Murphy. He is facing a Democratic primary challenge by former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz. The pair are scheduled to meet tonight in New London for their final debate before the primary.
Republican voters also will be at the polls on Primary Day to choose between former wrestling executive Linda McMahon and former 4th District Congressman Christopher Shays.
