The future of reading is an expensive one. That's the message from Danbury Library Interim Director Michele Capozzella. She says the popular best selling ebooks, the ones people want, can cost a library anywhere from $60 to $120 each for one license.
If they want more copies available, they'll have to pay for a second, third or fourth license. She says they are growing their ebook catalog slowly but surely. There is money in the budget each year to purchase new ebooks.
When a patron checks out an ebook, the license will expire after two weeks and it will be available for the next patron.
