A STEAP grant has been applied for for the Region 9 Board of Education. Easton and Redding's town leaders have applied for the Small Town Economic Assistance Program grants from the state for up to $500,000 each.
If approved the funding would be used for projects at Joel Barlow High School.
The towns decided not to include specific projects but state that they have bid notices out for sports-related improvements. Redding and Easton will hire a consultant to determine which projects would take priority.
