The New Milford Hospital Emergency Room will be doubled under plans unveiled by hospital officials yesterday. The emergency room will be two stories, taking up 11,000 square feet.
The nearly $11-million project will be paid for in part by private donations. The emergency room will be named after the Arnhold family, who with their original donation and others gifts, will pay for about $4-million of the project.
The new environmentally-friendly facility will be built into the hillside near Treadwell Avenue and have a roof-top garden.
Walk-in access will be from Elm Street while ambulances will still enter through Route 202.
