Cycling Sports Group has opened a new facility in Bethel. The Clarke Corporate Park location is the world-wide headquarters of Cannondale, GT, Mongoose and Schwinn companies. Company officials say the new facility will provide an environment that encourages bold design risks and access to cutting edge technology.
The Liquigas-Cannondale team placed third in the Tour de France this summer with one of it's members winning 3 stages of the race. The new global research and development center is a 4,500 square foot facility.
Bethel First Selectman Matt Knickerbocker, an avid bike rider, says they have about 150 employees with new jobs coming to the state.
Governor Dannel Malloy was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday.
