Three people have been hospitalize for injuries sustained in a head-on crash on Route 7 in Redding. Police Chief Douglas Fuchs says an SUV travelling northbound crossed the center line shortly after 3:30 yesterday afternoon and hit a car travelling southbound. That motorist had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Danbury Hospital in critical condition with serious injuries.
The two occupants of the other vehicle were also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A third driver was uninjured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The road was closed for little over two hours. Fire and police departments from Redding and Ridgefield responded.
Police are not releasing names at this time.
There was an accident near this site on Sunday that closed the road for several hours.
