The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence is honoring it's 100 exceptional male leaders at a breakfast at the state capital next week.
Among those being honored is Rafael Cordwell, who is a Residential Director at West Conn and the chair of the Women's Center of Greater Danbury Men's Initiative. He is being recognized for his leadership in heightening awareness of the availability and access to state domestic violence services.
This year and last year, Cordwell ran Operation Jungle Red, a campaign to end domestic and sexual violence. The Women's Center says he was also instrumental in creating an 8-week anti-violence college program in the campus residence halls.
The Men’s Initiative at the Women’s Center is a volunteer program providing men and male youths opportunities to be allies in the work.
