A New Canaan man has ben appointed by Governor Malloy to the Investment Advisory Council. The Council is responsible for working with the state Treasurer in overseeing the investments of the Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds.
Neil Budnick will serve as the chair of the group that is designed to both preserve and grow the assets of the funds. Budnick is the manager director of Channel Rock Partners, which is a management consulting firm. He also sits on the audit committees of two business groups.
He was also a member of the New Canaan Board of Finance for more than 5 years.
The Council notifies state auditors and the Comptroller of any unsafe handling of funds, and informs the Governor if it believes an investment decision may not be in the state’s best interest.
