It can wait.
That was the message last night to Newtown High School students and parents when it comes to texting and driving. Adults and students heard the inspiring story of overcoming tragedy to try to protect others.
Jacy Good spoke at the School Thursday night about a car accident she was involved in that claimed her parents lives. It was the day of her graduation in 2008 when a driver who was using his cell phone struck the vehicle they were all in.
Good was given a 10-percent likelihood of survival and is using her second chance to educate others.
Good says there is a ripple effect to people who can't wait to make a call or send a text until they are off the road. She notes that the day after the crash, there were 300 8th graders who needed to be told that their teacher, Jacy's mom, was dead.
Good says she doesn't even approve of hands free devices saying they still disturb concentration on the road.
