WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) A Waterbury store clerk has died, 10 days after being shot during a robbery.

Police say 61-year-old David Shand died on Wednesday as a result of his injuries, which had left him paralyzed.

He was shot in the neck during an armed robbery while working at the Bucks Hill Market on July 20.

Police arrested 19-year-old Tony Dupre a few hours later after identifying him from a store surveillance video.

They say that video showed him stepping behind the counter, shooting Shand and stepping over him to take money from the register.

Dupre was initially charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and robbery, but police say more charges are likely.

He is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond and is due back in court on Aug. 13.
