Authorities: Trial set for man accused in revenge killing

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) The murder trial for a 37-year-old Bridgeport man who police say waited eight years to get retribution against another man is set to begin.

The Connecticut Post reports that Travis ``Scuz'' Satawhite's trial is scheduled to start Monday.

Authorities say Satawhite believed Jermaine ``Baby Boy'' Reese tried to kill him outside a state courthouse in 1998. Satawhite was at a courthouse for a hearing when Reese's gang opened fire, killing a 21-year-old UPS worker as Satawhite escaped.

Reese stood trial for the killing in 1999 and was found not guilty. But police say Satawhite still pursued his vendetta.

Police say Satawhite caught up with Reese in 2006 and shot him 24 times, killing him.

Prosecutors and defense attorneys declined the newspaper's requests for comment.
