Worker thrown from DOT truck hit by car in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) State police say a Department of Transportation worker suffered minor injuries after being ejected from the back of a state truck when it was hit by a car on Interstate 91 in Hartford.

Troopers say the truck was parked in the right shoulder of I-91 northbound Friday morning and 53-year-old worker Glenn Gove of Wethersfield was in the back placing a cone on the road for a survey project when a car struck the truck.

Police say Gove was thrown over a metal beam and down a river embankment. He was taken to Hartford Hospital. The drivers of the DOT truck and the car also were taken to the hospital for possible injuries.

Troopers say the car driver was 24-year-old Jonathan Edwards of Meriden. No charges have been announced.
