League confirms Hartford won't have a home game this season

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford's new minor league baseball team won't play a single game in the city this season.

The Eastern League on Friday changed its schedule to move the Hartford Yard Goats' remaining home games to the road.

The Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies moved from nearby New Britain in the offseason and was supposed to open play in a new $60 million stadium in April.

Construction delays pushed back the opening date and led the city in June to fire the developer.

Work on the project was suspended amid an insurance investigation and a lawsuit filed by that developer.

The Yard Goats say season-ticket holders who make trips to Manchester, New Hampshire; Binghamton, New York; Bowie, Maryland; and Trenton, New Jersey, can attend the games for free.
