TV meteorologist facing child porn charges due in court

MERIDEN, Conn. (AP) - A TV meteorologist in Connecticut is facing his first court appearance after being charged with possessing child pornography.

Justin Goldstein, of Hamden, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Meriden Superior Court.

Officials at WTNH-TV in New Haven say Goldstein was suspended after authorities arrested him at the station July 13. Station manager Mark Higgins said the station was deeply concerned by the allegations.

Federal, state and local authorities say their investigation began in June after video files of suspected child pornography were downloaded from Goldstein's internet account. Officials say they found files of suspected child porn on computers and related equipment seized from Goldstein's home.
